Set up Spaces for the way your company works
Running a workspace · nineloops support
Spaces are where projects and their tasks, documents and costs live together. Here is how to shape them.
Spaces holds the work: projects, tasks and plans, with the reason for the work attached rather than filed somewhere else. A space is usually a client, a campaign, a department or a product line.
Project types and templates
Settings, then Spaces, is where you define the project types your company runs and the templates that go with them. A template seeds the structure, so a new project starts with the right stages, task lists and documents already in place instead of being built by hand every time.
Why it is worth doing early
- Everyone starts a project the same way, so reporting across projects actually compares like with like.
- The connection to a client in CRM and to costs in Finance is made once in the template rather than remembered each time.
- Automations can act on a project type, which is only reliable if the types are real.
You do not need to design this perfectly up front. Change a template and it applies to the projects you create next, so it is safe to refine as you learn what your team actually needs.
